Stepping stone for future: PSAT (Preliminary Scholastic Assessment Test )

On October 14th, all of the 10th grade students in KIS took PSAT to prepare for the future exams.

Although PSAT result doesn’t affect to the grade directly, many students were still concerned as it is an important opportunity to check their testing skills. Furthermore, the test score will be used for the students who are going to apply for future AP courses, such as AP Calculus or AP Language and Composition.

Just like the SAT, PSAT has 3 sections: math, writing, and reading sections. Majority of the students struggled on the reading section, as the passages were long and challenging. Furthermore, because of the busy schedule on the weekdays, students had hard time concentrating. One of the students, Yoon H. mentioned, “This weekend was the toughest week. We had so many things to prepare, and we were exhausted. Because my condition was not ideal, I couldn’t do my best on the exam. However, it was still valuable since we can verify our English skills through this qualified test. I’m grateful for school for providing us great opportunity.”

Like what she said, the test was hard and challenging. However, this test was only a stepping stone for the future. The test wouldn’t directly affect our future career or grades, but it could definitely enhance the quality of life for diligent students.
