On April 2nd, the class schedule of KIS middle school ended at noon right after lunch
time. School said that teachers need enough time to grade students’ works for the final Quarter 3
grade, and this was the reason for the early dismissal.
There was a slight change in the schedule for today. Every class went along 40 minutes
which is half as long as the normal class time (80 minutes); there were no lunch clubs. Day
students were allowed to leave school right after the lunch since there was no more class
schedule. For dorm students who had empty schedule because of the early dismissal, school
prepared an event!
From 1:00pm to 4:00pm, school held the “Spring Festival” for students. Each dormitory
houses designed their own booth, and every student got an opportunity to explore each booths.
There were lots of foods and snacks to eat, and students had fun with their friends. Also, it was a
good chance for students to get along with teachers, and make special memory together.
“I had such a fun time, and I was able to recall my memory from the past events,” said
Irene Baek from 7th grade. “I think it would be good if school can hold this kind of events often.
Sometimes, classes were boring because of its long time, but today, I felt good instead of feeling
boring,” she added.
When Irene Baek was asked to explain about events that happened during the Spring
Festival, she said “Magnolia which is the dorm house I’m belong to prepared a Cakewalk booth.
It was so fun!” At last, she said “Spring Festival was an exciting event even though weather
wasn’t that good.”
Early Dismissal and the Spring Festival revitalized students, and even teachers. Students
will be able to find joyful moments out of normal days if school keep hold interesting events.
