KIS Middle School prepared an event called ‘Pastoral Care’ which usually happens at the
end of each quarters. Pastoral Care is an event where each advisories in the school are having
their own, fun time with their advisory members. This is a great opportunity for students to build
more close friendship with other friends, and also with teachers. During the Pastoral Care event,
it is most common for advisories to go to a restaurant, watch a movie together, etc.
At last weekend, KIS MS held the Q3 Pastoral Care. Few advisories went to a buffet
restaurant; they were Mr. Saathoff’s advisory and Mr. Burke’s advisory in grade 7. These two
advisories also had a special time which is Mr. Saathoff’s birthday party. Lots of students had
fun, and they posted some photos on Facebook describing the fun that they had. Since dorm
students are not able to eat delicious foods in restaurant because they have to stay in dormitory,
Pastoral Care provided extra excitement for them.

Pastoral Cares are not that special events since they are common in KIS MS, but it
always provides meaningful experiences to students. Students often make some prediction about
what will their advisory gonna do at next Pastoral Care, and sometimes, their prediction is right!
Predicting and talking about their own advisory event is such a fun, and it is also interesting to
talk about other advisories’ Pastoral Care events as well. Among KIS MS students, Pastoral Care
always is an event which they are waiting for, and which give special memories to them.
