Season 2 High School Basketball was a phenomenal success and a sign of even greater future. Especially the boys teams, varsity and junior varsity, brought huge impact to the KISAC Red tournament by finishing the tournament in 2 out of top 3 places.

The KIS Varsity team with leading players such as Ji Hun Oh, Gelacio Kwon, Kyle Jung, Danny Lim and Andrew In, made to the finals but lost to the BIFS V team by only a few points. This team had 6 consecutive victories over other schools' best teams. The schools that our Varsity team beat included NLCS JV, BIFS JV, CCS V, and NLCS V. KIS Varsity was an unbeatable team, even until midway through the final game. Although the team lost to the BIFS V, it was the closest match in the whole tournament and it was a meaningful and a valuable experience to the team. Another significant fact that blew other coaches' minds was that, KIS did not have any 12 graders. This age gap is a clear omen of threat to other schools looking forward to next year's tournament. KIS Varsity will not have any student graduating, and the players will keep growing. Andrew In, the captain of KIS Varsity team, commented about the tournament. "I think the team improved a lot this year, moving from the fourth and fifth place in the tournament to the second and third. We were the only school without any senior players, and I think our future is even brighter. All the players and the coaches worked really hard this season, and I want to thank all of them for their dedication." Head Coach Sean Pratt is also looking forward to next year when the team will have bigger and even better team.

KIS Junior Varsity team was also a blast in the tournament. This team made it to the semi-finals and played its best against the BIFS V. It was only a three point lead for the BIFS V at half time! After all, KIS JV was the third place in overall standings at the end of the tournament which meant that KIS JV played better than Varsity teams of CCS, NLCS, CDS, and many other JV teams. It was a mind blowing two days for the team. And the fact that two teams from same school made it to 2nd and 3rd, means so much to KIS and its future.

Both KIS Varsity and Junior Varsity will be even better next year. We had and we will have such dedication and passion from coaches and players. With the driving force of Mr. Oren, Mr. Dines, and Mr. Pratt, the KIS teams will further develop and will certainly win the tournament. One thing I cannot say for certain is which team, between KIS V and KIS JV, will win the trophy after the finals next year.
