KIS middle school students took the Quarter three Korean literature and Korean social

studies exams on March 3rd and 4th. Students were surprised when they heard about the

upcoming exams because they just took the Quarter two exams less than two months ago.

Therefore, they weren’t ready for another exams.

However, we need to enjoy it if we can’t avoid it. Students started to put a lot of effort on

exam preparation to get their best possible scores. The exams began with the Korean literature

test on March 3rd from 8:20am to 9:05am. Students were all flushed with seriousness. As the

start time of the test comes, they tried their best to get one more glimpse of their note, memorize

one more word, and remember as many points as possible. The exam began; forty five minutes

of exam time elapsed quickly. Now, students had to prepare for the Korean social studies exam.

Again, the morning on March 4th passed so fast, and students were able to relax when it was

finally over.

Yet, the most important part of the exam season was about to begin which is to check

their scores. After students checked their scores, it was clear to see the difference in their

reactions. As always, some students were satisfied with their scores while others do not. Few

students received the perfect scores (100%).

Even though students’ scores varied, their effort was all great. “I studied pretty hard for

the exam,” Veronica from 7th grade said. She added, “I feel good and excited that the exam is

over. Still, I want to get better score, and I hope so since I’m planning to spend more time

studying for the Quarter 4 exams.”

Nobody loves exam. However, exam is a good chance for students to organize the

knowledge and information that they learned. Also, it is a tool that shows the learning progress of

students. At last, it gives academic motivation to students. Generally, KIS middle school students

took the exams with their best effort, and no one regretted about their scores.
