KISJ Theatre Season 3 - A Midsummer Night’s Dream Performance

On May 19th, 20th, and 21st of 2015 at 7:30PM, the KISJ theatre Season 3 cast and crew

will be performing a Shakespeare play, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, on the roof of KIS High

School. As one of the biggest shows presented by KISJ Theatre, it will be the beginning of a

KISJ theatre phenomenon.

Auditions were held on February 13th, 2015 at 4:30PM in the high school drama room.

Over 30 students had signed up for various roles, preparing a Shakespearean monologue of their

choice. “Performing a Shakespeare monolog was definitely difficult, but I was able to improve

myself through it and prepare for further roles,” Jenny Lee(G9) commented. Students from grade

6 to 11 auditioned with visible passion which added to the excitement of the show. Audition

results came out on February 16th and amazing and skilled actors were chosen for each role. Ms.

Curto(director) noted that choosing the cast and tech. crew was one of the most challenging, yet

exciting parts of the casting process.

As an major event requiring a great amount of work and dedication from each member of

the group, the cast and crew are putting in their commitment and devotion into the rehearsal

process. “We have already started rehearsal, and everyone is working hard to prepare for the

upcoming show,” says Jinkyung Kim(G9).

Students from NLCS, BHA, and KIS will be invited to see the show, as well as parents

and other Jeju citizens. Through this upcoming show, a new moment in KISJ Theatre history will

be created!
