The New Big 6

After a long process of arduous consideration and evaluation, the new big 6 of NLCS Jeju has finally been decided on. The members include Kiwan hyun, the head boy and Gabbie Yu, the head girl, and Sam Ha, Emily Seo, Jessica Baek and Andy Jang, each in charge of the Boys school, Girls school, Sixth form block and Junior school.

What sets the new big 6 apart from any other big 6s of the past seems to be the amount of emphasis they are placing on the notion of ‘friendliness’. In effect, Gabbie Yu stated openly in an interview that she planned to become an ‘approachable and friendly’ head girl; Kiwan also attributed to this idea through saying that the big 6 did not plan to possess any ‘power or authority’ over the student body, but rather that they were aiming on becoming ‘leading examples’ for other students.

The Big 6 is effectually the representative faces of the NLCS Jeju student body, and with such a position comes great responsibility and numerous obligations.

It is with high expectations that the school looks to the new big 6 and all the beneficial changes that they will bring to the school body.
